The main programmes of Cserkeszőlő beside the spa and beach are the regular programmes of the village. Marchings, programmes and presentations are regular in the spa and area on the state holidays from petting zoo to fireworks!

Cserke Knight Days

The Cserke Knight Days are organized every year in the middle of July, where the guests can participate in traditional programmes and typical foods and drinks of the region. The election of Cserke Lady and Cserke Knight seems to be interesting as well with the trials of the knights. The wheel of time is turned back into mediaval times at the event, the wine regions are presented and the honoured guests can enjoy gastronomic and cultural titbits.

„Opportunities of the nature”

The touristic characteristics of the region are excellent, its rich flora and fauna is unique.
The peaceful and silky water of multifaceted River Tisza and its soft sandbars, good for beaching, mean special attractions to tourists and the fishers can meet their expectations in this region just like the fans of extreme water sports!
We do not have to travel far either, to be introduced to the special atmosphere of the Puszta, the habits of its inhabitants, their foods and fauna.
Fans of biking can drive along mostly on bicycle roads, or they can wonder around the neighbour villages and grape plantations. Mountain bikers can enjoy the beauty and atmosphere of the Great Plains landscape on dams of Tisza and Körös Rivers and the dirt roads of the forests.

Tiszakürt Arboretum (5 km)

The prime attraction of Tiszakürt is the 60 ha-arboretum, established by the Graf Bolza family with a great climate, located on the shores of River Tisza. It's easily accessible by car (there is a parking opportunity) and by bus and it can be a part of a bicycle tour as well. The biggest part of the garden is the old garden, where true methuselas of trees, pines and cypresses, spring flowers blossoming bushes and rhododendrons enchant fans of nature. Every season shows something beautiful, so this special garden is a worth to be visited several times. Relax and chill out in nature!

Tiszaug Harbour (10 km)

The biggest harbour of the region is located at Tisza Bridge of Tiszaug. Smaller water tours can be organized around the harbor, with rentable kayaks and canoes in the untouched environment, which charaterizing River Tisza.
The harbour is located in a floodplain forest with Natura 2000 environmental protection classification, roes, otters and martens wonder in the area at night.

Cultural programme opportunities

Szarvas water theater (app. 30 km)

A new open air theater was born at the gates of Békés County, in the heart of Central Eastern Europe in July 2011. A theater with a special atmosphere for hosting almost 1,000 guests was opened in Szarvas on the shore of picaresque River Holt-Körös. Szarvas Water Theater was constructed as a mixture of sophisticatedly styled castle and an ancient stage as a unique architectural solution in Hungary in the neighbourhood of a great new footbridge. Szarvas Water Theater is operated by Békés County Jókai Theater, that has grown from a small rural theater to one of leading theaters of Hungary in the last four years.

„Prison Museum“, Kunszentmárton (ca. 5 km)

The ethnographic, historic and archeologic memories of the small town was moved to their final location into the building of former Nagykun District Prison in 1968. It became a museum of 1985 and it welcomes its guests with various exhibitions ever since.

It is a unique dash of colour on the shore of River Körös with its garden and antique prison walls. The thick walls and barred windows were constructed for the prisoners of Jászkun District in 1782. The round-shaped chapel of the building is remembered as a death row by the tradition, however no deathly sentence was executed locally. The memories of subjective and intellectual culture of Kunszentmárton and Tiszazug region are kept here, whose essence is presented by a standing exhibition. Beyond the local historical and archeological relations, the visitors can get to know the history, tools and products of the local crafting arts. Among others the only pastry museum of Hungary and a really richly-equipped brazier workshop can be visited, the latter is unique in the Tiszántúl region.

Tiszazug Geographical Museum, Tiszaföldvár (ca. 15 km)

One of the biggest paleonthologic collections of vertebrates of the glacial age of Hungary can be found in the institute. One of the most valuable pieces of subjective culture of floodplain farming is a monoxylon from 18th century, carved and burned from a single stock.
